Organizational Design and Development

Cheri TorresCheri B. Torres, Ph.D.,  founder of Collaborative-by-Design and  Associate member of the Taos Institute brings almost 30 years of experience in education, human development, experiential learning, collaborative learning, and most recently organizational design to her present passion for engaging people with diverse views, values, and strengths in generating innovative and sustainable solutions to complex challenges.

Cheri has worked with diverse communities: from public schools and community youth organizations to corporations and government entities, supporting their capacity for innovation, collaboration, and learning. She has trained hundreds of trainers and teachers in the use and practice of Appreciative Inquiry and Experiential Learning with a particular focus on shared leadership, teamwork, creativity, and collaboration. She has authored or co-authored numerous articles and a number of books, including Dynamic Relationships: Unleashing the Power of Appreciative Inquiry in Daily Living, The Appreciative Facilitator: An Accelerated Learning Practice, and From Conflict to Collaboration. In 1996 she co-founded MTC Associates after co-designing and patenting Mobile Team Challenge, an award winning, innovative portable challenge course and training process that is used in youth and adult programs around the world.

Cheri holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a specialization in Collaborative Learning from the University of Tennessee. She also holds an MBA from Lehigh University, a Masters in Transpersonal Psychology from the Institute of Personal Psychology, Appreciative Inquiry certification from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, and level two certification in Spiral Dynamics Integral.  Resume

Bob LaliberteBob Laliberte, PMP, partner with Innovations Partners International, has either managed or consulted to organizations for more than 30 years in the fields of innovative high-performance work systems and project management.

With American Optical in the mid-1970’s, he was instrumental in both the technical and organization design of a new team based manufacturing site, later managing this successful facility.  At Polaroid for ten years, he was involved in both project management and internal consulting roles in the redesign of several manufacturing and research facilities on their path to high performance.  At Domtar Gypsum, Bob led the organizational design and development, and implementation of another new manufacturing site, today recognized as one of the most innovative and productive wallboard producing facilities in the world. Since that time he has led the organization design for the start-up of four additional manufacturing sites.

He has delivered workshops and consulted on Change Management, Visioning, Leadership, Conflict Mitigation, Project Management, Team Building and Development, Organization Design and Redesign, Business Process Design, Progressive Compensation Systems, and Selection and Hiring Processes.

Current and past clients include the Maine Medical Center, Lafarge Gypsum, Domtar, Chinet, Rex Roto, Georgia Pacific, Residential Resources, St. Mary’s Medical Center, Esthetic and Reconstructive Dentistry, SMRT, Unity Churches, Hillenbrand, National Gypsum, Bausch and Lomb, EPA, JW Sewall, University of Maine, Babson Capital, Saint-Gobain, Koch Industries, and Artel.

He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Northeastern University and a Masters degree in Management Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Bob currently teaches the Project Management Certificate Program at the University of New England. In addition, Bob is past president of the Maine Association of Psychological Type and past Board member, and a Board member of the Maine Project Management Institute.

Sallie LeeSallie Lee, M.A., Founder of Shared Sun Studio and strategic partner of Innovation Partners International, has spent her career in organizational development and design, serving as a thinking partner, facilitator, and strategist for client groups around the world. Trained in psychology and philosophy at NC State University, she also holds an MA in International Development from the University of Miami and certification in Global Change and Social Innovation from Case Western Reserve University’s Global Excellence in Management program [GEM].

She served as VP, director of human resources for D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles [DMB&B] in New York and senior consultant for Drake Beam Morin’s change management division. She spent six years in Latin America, giving her strong communication skills in both Spanish and English.

Sallie specializes in consulting/coaching on whole system collaboration and innovation, including strength-based system design and facilitation of strategic planning processes that can engage all stakeholders and tap the collective intelligence present in the organization.

Bernard MohrBernard Mohr, Ed.M., Dpl. OD What would it mean for us individually and as citizens, parents, brothers/sisters and friends if most days we experienced dignity, meaning and community at work? What if we had the chance to really play to our strengths and passions at work? For almost 40 years Bernard has been exploring these issues in roles such as social systems designer, thinking partner and coach to clients in healthcare, education, retail, manufacturing, government and professional service organizations – in the US, Central America, the Caribbean, Western Europe, Canada and the Middle East.

His journey in collaborative design and innovation has challenged him to integrate the best of Design Thinking, Open Socio-Technical Systems, Large Group Methods, Social Constructionism, Complexity Science and Strength Based Change with his experiences as a senior manager in a national bureaucracy.

He is partner and co-founder of Innovation Partners International, founding partner of Appreciative Inquiry Consulting LLC, adjunct faculty at Concordia University, senior faculty at NTL Institute, member of the Advisory Board of Taos Institute, and Plexus Institute Associate. He has published widely in the fields of collaborative innovation, quality, high performance organizations, positive organization design and whole system transformation, including one the leading books on Appreciative Inquiry:  Appreciative Inquiry: Change At the Speed of Imagination.

Integral Coaching, Leadership Development and Whole Systems Planning

Colette HerrickColette Herrick, founder of Insight Shift, is an executive coach and organizational consultant who brings a rich perspective from over thirty years in diverse clinical, corporate,and consulting positions.  Beginning in clinical health care, she served as Chief Cardiac Transplant Coordinator at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center.  In 1990, she joined a biotech division of Johnson & Johnson and served as an immunobiology product specialist, trainer for national and international affiliates, and manager for immunobiology teams in more than half the geographic United States.  She later joined a start-up biopharmaceutical company in the bay area and served as Director of New Business Development.

In 2002, with an ever-evolving curiosity and focus on “what creates excellence in leadership, on teams and in organizations” Colette retooled and retrained to contribute to positive change in health care as a coach and consultant. Since that time, she has provided leadership coaching to physicians, CEO’s, VPs, executive directors, and managers in health care and other sectors.

Colette holds degrees in nursing and communications, is a Certified Integral Coach, Integrative Movement Coach, Certified in the Leadership Circle Assessment Tools and Workshops and The Grove Principles of Facilitation.

Leadership and Teamwork Development and Whole Systems Planning

Wendy WhiteWendy B. White, founder of Continuum Consulting and FutureWave, specializes in leadership, community and organizational development has shared her passion, insight, creativity and wealth of experience with her clients for over 20 years. Combining business and human performance practices with her ability to inspire and motivate, Wendy is able to transform and strengthen business cultures, structures and relationships for a variety of client groups. She is not afraid to tackle challenging situations, and thrives in partnering with people through times of transition, moving clients through chaos to creation and vision.

Wendy is a member of the Experiential Based Training and Development Alliance and is an Appreciative Inquiry consultant. She is very involved in community outreach initiatives, including the All American Independent Film Festival and the Continuum Blues Jam.

Janine UnderhillJanine Underhill is founder of Idea 360 and co-founder of FutureWave. She has helped make the invisible visible for Fortune-100 clients and nonprofit firms that need a repeatable blueprint to reach important meeting outcomes, that need to get diverse minds on board to accomplish complex team efforts, and that need to arrive at solidified leadership decisions based on quality discoveries.
